This piece was commissioned by the Brass Band de l'Elite de Cressier on the occasion of its 100th anniversary and is one of eight pieces written to accompany the humorous tale "Le pied d'Estale" by Jacques Béalle. The play, in medieval style, influenced the inspiration for this composition. This short and fast piece was played in Act 4, when the fearsome monster pursues the Count.
