A l'auberge
Recording with "Note Performer"

This piece was commissioned by the Brass Band de l'Elite de Cressier on the occasion of its 100th anniversary and is one of eight pieces written to accompany the humorous tale "Le pied d'Estale" by Jacques Béalle. The play, in medieval style, influenced the inspiration for this composition. This piece was played after the interval as an introduction to Act 3. The scene in Act 3 takes place in a medieval inn at the edge of the forest. In a rustic setting, there is partying, drinking and dancing. In the middle of the piece a quiet part to symbolise the nightly peace outside the inn.
