Composition commissioned by and for the renowned professional tuba player Guy Michel, who wished to play a concert piece in duet with his daughter Auriane, also a professional tuba player. This not only with piano accompaniment but also with brass band accompaniment, in order to perform it (for the first time) with her home music association, the Fanfare l'Avenir de Barberêche-Courtepin. Guy also wished to have a passage in the version with brass band accompaniment in which he could play in a trio with his second daughter Carole, an excellent amateur euphonist who is also active in her home music society. I wanted to fulfil his wishes with the best of intentions, and so "Concertino "michelois"" came into being.

Built up in 3 parts/movements, the main feature of the first part is the rhythmic challenges and the changing time signatures. The second part is slow and expressive. The third part is fast, lively, virtuosic and spectacular!
